Twenty-one bridges in the landscape

“Twenty-one bridges in the landscape” Exhibition
CCHA, Hasselt, 2024

Twenty-one bridges in the landscape is:
A photographic inventory of the twenty-one steel generic bridges designed by Ney & Partners across the Albert Canal (BE).
A certain kind of portrait of an one-hundred kilometers long line crossing the Flanders landscape.

And beyond the photographic commission, “Twenty-one bridges in the landscape” becomes a reality through:
A book.
An exhibition.

The book. “Bridges across the Albert Canal. A walk.”

Building twenty-one generic bridges along the Albert Canal is an exceptional design task in the world of bridge building. The focus is not the unique bridge as an object, but the repetition of a series of structures and rhythm in which they appear. The cornerstone of this story is the Albert Canal itself, with the bridges as punctuation marks along the waterway”. Laurent Ney.
